In France, we support the charities Mode Estime and La Cravate Solidaire through mentoring, coaching, and collection initiatives. As part of this initiative, Sandro is collaborating with the Maison Mode Méditerranée Endowment Fund (MMM), a key player in supporting fashion and cultural talent. Together, we are developing concrete actions to promote more inclusive and accessible fashion, both in France and internationally. ​

As part of our long-term commitment with the Maison Mode Méditerranée Endowment Fund, we announced the launch of the SANDRO x MMM Prize: Textiles, Savoir-Faire and Craftsmanship in September 2025.

This prize rewards creators who place cultural heritage and technical excellence at the heart of contemporary design.

By supporting emerging talents from the Mediterranean region, SANDRO reaffirms its commitment to preserving ancestral skills while projecting them into sustainable, innovative and forward-thinking fashion.

Portuguese designer Joana Duarte, founder of BÉHEN, won over the jury with her unique and deeply human approach. Her work breathes new life into traditional embroidery and weaving from the Azores and Madeira, transforming textiles rich with family history into bold ready-to-wear pieces. By collaborating closely with local artisan cooperatives, Joana proves that textile heritage is a living material, capable of entering into a dialogue with contemporary design while celebrating stories of memory and transmission.

The winner will be invited by our Womenswear studio to the SANDRO headquarters to discuss potential synergies and share expertise. She will also receive a grant to support her in her projects.
